packing and time with friends

exactly one week from now we should be unloading the moving truck. crazy. moving day is rapidly approaching and though we are in good shape when it comes to packing i am finding plenty of things to stress about. i think that i should constantly be packing but spending time with friends is also important so we’ve been doing that, too.

and i recently (and hesitantly) became an owner and user of an iPhone. how does this relate to the blog? well, it’s super easy to take and share pictures with an iPhone so i just send them to family and friends in the moment. i said i didn’t want a smart phone because i was afraid i’d be on it all the time but in reality i am now on the computer less because i can check email and such throughout the day. and i’ll be traveling for my new job so i think it will be really nice to have. consider yourself warned that the below pictures aren’t great quality because they were taken by a phone (let’s be  honest, an iPhone is a small computer).

a glance at our week:

when i am not at work i'm usually packing a box. or cleaning. randy has been doing lots of organizing and even selling some things that he no longer uses.

we had friends over for a bbq last weekend. we figured we didn't want to do it right before the move and our good friends moved this week. randy even broke out a family heirloom grilling apron :)

first actual garden harvest of the season! so glad that some rhubarb was ready before we moved. the strawberries are not from our garden, though we would have lots if we were staying in this house!

buckwheat pancakes with homemade rhubarb strawberry compote and homemade coconut cream with vanilla beans. delicious. and actually healthy!

and the best part was cooking them with randy and a good friend! plus i recently purchased yellow jeans which i am pathetically excited to own. they were finally 75% off.

after having breakfast for dinner we went out to a music venue to enjoy some live music and dancing. that’s right folks, randy and i danced, for the first time since our wedding almost one year ago. and it was in public. that’s a big deal for us.

it was super dark and i didn't want to make an obnoxious flash so all we have is this grainy picture. our first and last time truly going out at night in this town. we aren't really night life people but it was mostly fun.
