seeds! dirt!

we planted our first seeds of 2013 tonight! it was so fun to have our hands in the dirt again, planting ity bity things that will ultimately provide us with fresh garden produce. it amazes me how things grow from such small seeds. i had made another batch of kale pesto to enjoy with more homemade crackers while we planted – soon we can be making it with kale from the backyard! it was a fun and relaxing evening with randy and a friend. can’t go wrong with a bunch of dirt, seeds, homemade raspberry lime sodas, music, and friends.

first seeds of 2013. we planted tomatoes, broccoli, lettuce, kale, pumpkins, butternut squash, basil, lavender, parsley, marjoram, cucumbers, cabbage, onions, lupine, cosmos and other things that i'm sure i forgot.

this greenhouse will be in our living room for the next 6-8 weeks because that is where we get the most sunlight in our house. we're borrowing a grow light from a friend, who is borrowing greenhouse space from us. a great trade!
