i did swim team in elementary school and my first year of middle school, but i don’t think that i’ve swam laps since then. at least not until today. my friend elise (the one who made the pop tarts) and i signed up for a “3 week ironman” through the university of montana gym. basically you complete the distances of an ironman over the course of three weeks: 2.4 miles of swimming, 112 miles of biking and 26.2 miles of running. you log the miles on your own and you can bike and run outside if you’d like (thank goodness, because i’m not a big fan of exercising indoors). i’m not doing this for the exercise so much as i love running and i enjoy biking and swimming. spring is coming and it will be good to get a kick start on being more active. plus it’s fun to do it with a friend!
randy is excited that i’ve joined the university gym because then i can play racquetball with him. i’ve never played racquetball and i’ve never been great at sports that involve a racquet, but i’m willing to take a whack at it.
and let’s be honest, the more active i am, the more i can justify trying new recipes 🙂
