i’m not gonna lie, i have a thing for pop tarts. i realize they are an unhealthy, processed food and while i don’t buy them, i do like them. one of my sisters posted a link to a recipe for homemade pop tarts and i had to give them a try. my friend elise and i had been planning to make them this weekend for a while now. we had a fun morning baking and chatting. overall they are pretty tasty (and healthy), not to mention fun to make, especially with good company. we decided that another time we would make the dough, but instead of making pop tarts, we would make homemade hot pockets. that would be some major brownie points for me from the husband 🙂
our favorite flavor was the apple, oats and cinnamon pop tarts. the fruit ones oozed out and made a bit of a mess. we didn’t exactly follow the recipe for the fillings so what did we expect? may end up frosting the ones i have left. until next time…hot pockets!
