portland to coast

spent the weekend in oregon; after 3 months of training it was finally time for the portland to coast relay! our students did an excellent job – we set a school record and got 2nd place out of high school girl teams! i’m proud of the students. after zero hours of sleep, 6 shots of espresso, a liter of coke, a lot of chocolate chip cookies, pep talks and more, i am ready for bed. it took our students 19 hours, 5 minutes and 46 seconds to run 127 miles. it was a fun weekend.

no road race exists without mass quantity porta-potties

i drank three of these in less than 24 hours. they gave me temporary energy and then an energy crash. there is a reason we need sleep.

proof that we made it to the ocean!
